Sharon Price

Nov. 17, 2012

Sharon Howe Price, 45, passed away, Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, after a long and courageous fight against breast cancer.

She was born Nov. 12, 1967 in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of Eleanor Howe and the late James Howe. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Howe.

She graduated from Bishop Hoban High School in 1985 and received her bachelor of science degree in accounting from King's College on May 21, 1989. She began working for Ingersoll-Rand in July of 1989 as a staff auditor.

Over the next 23 years she was promoted five times to positions with increased responsibility as the company transitioned from Ingersoll-Rand to Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps and ultimately to Flowserve Corporation. During this time with the company her job took her many different countries, where she had the opportunity to experience foreign cultures, which she enjoyed tremendously. Her last position with the company was that of Director, Controller for Industrial Pump Operations, Americas.

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and a loyal and caring friend. She was also active in the local community and donated her time to teach religious education classes at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. She had a deep love for the Outer Banks, N.C., walks on the beach, reading, fishing, baseball and was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. Sharon never backed away from a challenge, but instead attacked it with vigor and enthusiasm no matter what the occasion.

She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Andy Price; daughter, Emily Price; son, Nevin Price; mother-in-law, Linda Price; sister-in-law, Kim Willey, all of Virginia Beach; mother, Eleanor Howe, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Linda Sabol and husband Carl, Harding; Nancy Yankowski and husband Bill, Plains Township; Marianne Howe and companion Martyn Androsky, Kingston; several nieces and nephews of Northeastern Pa., and many loving friends.
