Sylvia Truchon, 72, of Reyburn Road, Shickshinny, passed away Sunday morning in Kindred Hospital of the Wyoming Valley.
She was born in Nanticoke on June 30, 1940, the daughter of the late John and Anna Novak Price of Honey Pot (Nanticoke).
She was employed by the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union as a seamstress for Ronnie Dress Factory, Shickshinny.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Glen Lyon.
Sylvia loved cooking, baking and sewing for her beloved family and dear friends. Her favorite past time was feeding and caring for her wild birds.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Price.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Stephen Truchon; her daughter, Pamela Volovic, and her husband, Dan, of Wilkes-Barre; son, Stephen John Truchon, and his wife, Damita Jo, of Shickshinny; three grandchildren, Noelle Volovic of Chicago; Dan Volovic of Wilkes-Barre; Kelby Truchon of Shickshinny; a brother, David Price, and his wife, Vicki, of Honey Pot.
Sylvia's family would like to thank the entire staff of Kindred Hospital for their kindness, dedication and commitment. They are forever grateful.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny, with the Rev. John Seniw, of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Dodson Cemetery, Southdale.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service.
