PITTSTON — Valerie A. Zalepa, 30, of Pittston, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born and raised in Forty Fort, she was the daughter of Patricia Gilmore and her partner, George Krifka, Exeter, and Edward Zalepa Jr., West Pittston.
Valerie was a graduate of Bishop O'Reilly High School and the McCann School for Massage Therapy.
Valerie lived life to its fullest, not wasting one precious moment. She loved her enormous amount of friends and family along with a contagious smile and an infectious personality. She also loved music, dancing and body art.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her best friend, Toby: her pug, her life. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Zalepa III, West Pittston; sisters, Brittany Anne Zalepa and her fiance, Tylor Galup, Exeter; Jennifer Hines, Duryea, and Carolyn Moore, Delaware; maternal grandfather, Hugh Gilmore, Bear Creek; also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday from the Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, with Monsignor Joseph Sempa officiating. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
