Walter Kozak, 69, of Kingston, passed away Sunday evening in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Julius Kozak and Ellen Hargraves Kozak. Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Army
. He was educated in the Kingston schools. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at the Wilkes-Barre Iron Works for many years. He was a member of the Swoyersville American Legion Post 644 and the Kingston VFW
Preceding him in death was his brother, Anthony Kozak.
Surviving are children, Jamy Kozak, Dallas, John Krasniak Jr., Nescopeck, Brian Krasniak, Dallas, and Tracy Bailey and her husband, Dave, Bloomsburg; grandchildren, Derek Kozak, Brittany Krasniak, Brandon Bailey, Tatyana Huff and Sabrina Krasniak; brothers, Edward Davis and his wife, Connie, Aberdeen, Md., Thomas Bidwick and his wife, Mildred, Charlotte, N.C., and Julius Kozak and his wife, Marion, Lehman; sister; Ellen Buonemani, and her husband, Frank, New York; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at noon in the Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. Bryan Rosenberg officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton. Friends may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
