William B. Novis

William B. (Wild Bill) Novis, 72, of Hanover Green, formerly of Luzerne, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Commonwealth Hospice, St Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Luzerne on June 15, 1930, a son of the late William B. and Helen Lawrence Novis.

William attended Luzerne High School and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Essex during the Cuban crisis. He was employed in the construction trade and drove truck for Hostess Bakery. Bill loved animals, especially his two dogs, Cajun and Taz. He also enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of Post 609 American Legion.

Surviving are his son, William J Novis; former wife, Elaine Paczkowski Korman; sister, Pat Konopke and husband, Steve; nephews and nieces, Steven and Marie Konopke, Robert and Mary Jo Konopke, Kimberly and George Czajkowski, Stanley and Kris Conord and children; great-nephews and nieces.

Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church, Bennett Street, Luzerne. Funeral arrangements by the Yeosock Funeral Home, Plains Township.
