William E. Kivler

William E. "Bill" Kivler, of Briar Creek Road, Plains Township, died Thursday, October 4, 2012, after a battle with a longtime illness.

He was a son of the late Jake and Katherine Kivler. Bill was a graduate of Nanticoke Area schools. William had careers in management with Armstrong Flooring and maintenance at Golden Living Assistance Home in Plains Township. He was a member of Parson Primitive Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by wife, Joan, and brother, Carl Kivler.

He is survived by his son, William D. and his wife, Barbara, of Plains Township; daughter Joyce Thompson and her husband, Jon; three grandchildren, Jon, Jeannine and Jillian of Willow Grove, Pa.; sisters; RoseAnn Chamberlain, of Alden; Mildred Elick and her husband, Leonard, of Lansdale, Pa.; godchild, Tyler; several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township. The Rev. Andy Jerome, pastor of Parsons Primitive Methodist Church, will officiate services scheduled for 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Luzerne County SPCA in Bill's memory.
