Kazimer Tarnowski Obituary

RIDGEFIELD, CONN. — Kazimer E. Tarnowski, 93, of Ridgefield, Conn., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016.

Kaz was born on Nov. 1, 1923, in Sheatown. He was the son of Walter and Antonia (Polniaszek) Tarnowski.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After his service, Kaz resided in Linden, N.J. He relocated to Ridgefield, Conn., nine years ago.

Kaz is survived by his wife, Gertrude (Tarasweicz), of 70 years; and their daughter, Joan and her husband, John Stefura, of Ridgefield, Conn.; three grandchildren, Aaron Stefura and his wife, Jolene, Paul and Kevin Stefura; and two great- grandchildren, Payton and Aubrey Stefura. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Dorothy Tarnowski, of Glen Lyon; his brother, Thomas Tarnowski, of Raritan, N.J.

Kaz was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol, of Linden, N.J.; his parents; his sisters, Valeria Maczuga and Helen Piorkowski; his brothers, Thaddeus, Edwin, Chester, Raymond, Leo and John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Dec. 19, 2016, in St. Mary's Church in Ridgefield, Conn. Interment with U.S. Military Honors will take place on Dec. 21, 2016, in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, N.J. Arrangements are by the Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield, Conn.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Resident Council at Filosa Nursing Home, 13 Hakim St., Danbury, CT 06810.
