Sharae Thompson Obituary
WILKES-BARRE — Sharae Thompson, 21, and her son Xander Jace Yashkus, 3, of Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016.
Sharae was born in Wilkes-Barre and is the daughter of Joanne Savinski, of Kingston, and Greg Thompson, of Wilkes-Barre. She was a graduate of GAR High School, class of 2013, and was employed at FedEx of Pittston Township.
On July 6, 2013, God blessed her with the absolute joy of her life, Xander. Sharae spent her time being a terrific mommy to him while loving, teaching and watching him grow into the sweet, curly-haired angel he is now. They traveled to beaches, aquariums and fairs, and they both shared a passion for Honda car shows. Xander was an absolute car fanatic, having over 400 cars, trucks, trains and planes.
Besides being a full-time mommy, Sharae enjoyed DIY crafts, long drives, music and being surrounded by loving family and friends, including her kitty, Boost.
Preceding Sharae in death were her brother, Lamar Dawson, in 2015; and her grandmother, Barbara Hetro, in 2013.
Surviving besides her parents are a sister, Erika Savinski, of Kingston; Sharae's grandparents, Al and Eileen Savinski, of Pittston, George Hetro, of West Wyoming; aunts and uncles; and a niece, Amani.
Xander was followed in death by his father, Zackary Yashkus. He is survived by his grandmother, Joanne, of Kingston; his grandmother, Jeannine and Pop Pop Steve, of Hanover Township, and his Nana, Judy Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. Louis Smyth and Vince O'Boyle, of the Church on the Square, officiating. Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Domestic Violence Service Center, P.O. Box 2177, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18703.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the lost of your beautiful daughter and grandson. They both have an unforgettable smile. We all hope for better conditions. It's refreshing to know that God's word speaks of a time when all sorrows will be gone and mankind will live in beautiful surroundings with nothing to fear. (Isaiah 65:17, 21-24) Until that time I hope you continue to pray for strength to get through this tragedy.

I've only met Sharae and her son once but she attended the same school as me. She was very close to a few of my family members, her and her son had lovely personalities and it is sad to see them gone so soon. They definitely had smiles that light up the room. They are gone but never forgotten, R.I.P.
