DURYEA — Anthony J. Boccardi Jr., 84, of Duryea, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, in Spirit of Mercy Skilled Nursing Center, Scranton.
Born in Dupont on April 21, 1929, he was the son of the late Anthony and Elvera Sharr Boccardi.
He was a graduate of Dupont High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He had been employed by Garlet Manufacturing and after retirement he had worked for Letica Corp.
He was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston, and the Dupont VFW.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Boccardi.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Helen Andrews Boccardi, son, Anthony J. Boccardi III, and his wife, Darlene, of Quakertown; grandchildren, Anthony J. Boccardi IV, Aleia M. Boccardi and Arianna C. Boccardi; brother Philip Boccardi, Duryea; sisters, Elizabeth Stonecypher, Duryea, and Lorraine Wysokinski, Dupont; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Tuesday morning. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston.
