Carl Charles Cichowicz

SCRANTON — Carl Charles Cichowicz, formerly of Luzerne, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Gino Merli Nursing Home, Scranton.

Born on Nov. 14, 1932, in Larksville, he was a son of the late Stanley and Antanina Bagdonavicz Cichowicz.

Prior to his retirement, he was a mechanic for Massachusetts Department of Transportation. He was a honorable veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard and Joseph, and sister, Eleanor Urban.

Surviving are his brothers, Stanley, Boston, George, Gilbert; sister, Margaret Manns, Carlisle; nephews, Charles Urban, Luzerne, Paul Clark, Boston;and several other nephews and nieces.

Funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with the Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
