DALLAS — Cyril A. "Cye" Good, 91, of Dallas, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at his home. Cyril was born in Larksville, on Dec. 23, 1922. He was a son of the late John and Mary (Sholtis) Good.
Cye was a World War II veteran. He served as a medic with the 16th Regimental Combat Team, First Infantry Division. He saw action in Africa, Sicily, the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star for his actions on Omaha Beach, June 6, 1944.
After the war, Cye went back to school and graduated from Bucknell University with a bachelor of arts in civil engineering. He retired from Torcon Industries in New Jersey in 1991.
Cye was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gloria Mayeski; sisters, Margaret Paridis and Theresa Evancho; brother, John Good Jr.
Surviving are his daughter, Jean Tupper; grandchildren, Barry Brutko and his wife, Kelly; Sheila Jesse and her husband, Bob; great-grandchildren, Emily and Zachary Brutko; sisters, Katherine Harvey and Rosemary Ellis; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville. Private interment will be held in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Courtdale. There are no public calling hours.
