Master Sgt. Daniel T. Koiro

HENDERSON, Nev. — Master Sgt. Daniel T. Koiro, U.S. Air Force, Retired, 69, formerly of Kingston, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at St. Rose Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon (Knorr) Koiro.

He was a son of the late Ignatious and Helen (Ferrence) Koiro of Edwardsville.

Daniel was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, spending his last years as a recruiter in Wilkes-Barre. He served in Vietnam and during his career he received the Meritorious Service Medal and two Air Force Commendation Medals.

Following his military service, Daniel returned to Kingston and worked for 19 years for the Luzerne County Assistance Office.

Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Brenda, Henderson; son, Greg, daughter-in-law, Mariza, and grandson, Daniel, all of Las Vegas; and brother, Ralph, Henderson.

Daniel will be laid to rest with a military burial on Friday at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nev.
