HATFIELD — Edward L. "Ned" James, 71, of Hatfield, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Abington Hospital, Abington.
He was the husband of 47 years of Veronica M. "Ronnie" (Pruner) James.
Born in Wilkes Barre, he was a son of the late Lewis and Cecelia (Devaney) James. Mr. James graduated from Coughlin High School in Wilkes Barre. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964. He worked as a truck driver for 35 years with Lehigh Valley Dairies, retiring in 2000.
Mr. James was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Hatfield American Legion, the Lansdale Cannoneers and the Lansdale Little Vets.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel "Buzz" James, and his wife, Diane.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Jeffrey James and his wife, Julie, Quakertown, and Barrett James and his companion, Alli, Colorado; his daughter, Celeste James, Hatfield; his sister, Maureen Miller and her husband, Ronald, Wilkes Barre; grandchildren, Marlaina and Savannah James; mother-in-law, Mary Fitzgerald, Glenside.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. before Mass. Interment will be private.
