Francis T. Kumor, 72, of Shillington, passed away March 9, 2013, in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
He was the husband of Roseann M. (Chrobak) Kumor, whom he married almost 45 years ago on May 25, 1968.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Chester F. and Leona (Kijek) Kumor. Francis was a 1958 graduate of E.L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, and earned his engineering degree from Penn State University.
He was a mechanical engineer, retiring from the Parsons Corp. Francis was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Francis was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles fan. He loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Dr. Francis V. Kumor, Kutztown University faculty member, Mohnton, Pa.; sister, Alexandra Holmgren, Ashley; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington. A visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Francis T. Kumor Music Scholarship Fund, c/o Kutztown University Foundation, P.O. Box 151, Kutztown, PA 19530.
