NANTICOKE — James J. Marcella, 80, of Church Street, Nanticoke, passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 19, 2013 at Nanticoke Special Care Hospital.
He was born in Nanticoke and was the son of the late Andrew and Helen Marcella. James was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and worked for Sear Logistics' Services as a fork lift operator. He served during the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Marines as a Corporal.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Monica Ciempola and by brothers Robert and Andrew Marcella.
Surviving are a son, Michael, Nanticoke; grandson, Michael Patrick; brothers, Charles, Sheatown; John, Richboro, Pa.; sister, Sandra Marcella, Hanover Township; several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held from the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
