PITTSTON JUNCTION — Joseph F. Gerboc, 79, of Pittston Junction, died on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains Township. He was born at the home where he resided, in the Pittston Junction, Nov. 14, 1934, and was a son of late George and Katarina (Mackanic) Gerboc.

Joseph was a member of Nativity Of Our Lord Parish (Holy Rosary Church), Duryea. He was a 1952 graduate of Pittston High School. After high school, Joe joined the U.S. Air Force and served from 1957 to 1962. Joe worked many years for T.P. Printing, Duryea, and retired from TechnaGlass Corp., in 1997, after many years of service.

In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by his siblings, Michael Gerboc, Mary Russick, Helen Schnitzel, Ann Rachwalski, Agnes Havrilla and John Gerboc.

Surviving are his siblings, Elizabeth Rakowski, Duryea, Juliana Kopec, Bradenton, Florida, George Gerboc, Wyoming, and Margaret Kalina, with whom he resided; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Monday from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Nativity Of Our Lord Parish (Holy Rosary Church), Stephenson Street, Duryea, with the Rev. Andrew Sinnott officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be held at St. John The Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nativity Of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea PA 18642; or to the Luzerne County SPCA, 524 E. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
