DUPONT — Andrew Jacob Kolibob, Dupont, died March 6, 2014, at Commonwealth Hospital, Scranton. His wife, the former Veronica Romanko, died in June 2011.

He was born in Dunmore and was a son of the late Andrew and Veronica Tomko Kolibob. A graduate of Dunmore High School, he also attended the University of Scranton and had worked as a revenue auditor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania until his retirement.

He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Walter X Young. He enjoyed attending reunions with his fellow veterans.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, John, Robert and Albert; and six sisters, Helen Kasavage, Josephine and Verna Kolibob, Ann Barnick, Margaret Gebing and Madlyn Aebil.

Surviving are a daughter, Maria Smith, Wyoming; granddaughter, Keely Smith, Wyoming; grandson, Landon; and one sister, Mary Biskausskas, Schednectady, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Corpus Christi Church, Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Hollisterville, at a later date.
