Barbara Miers

Barbara J. Miers, 86, of Forty Fort, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at The Wesley Village in Jenkins Township.

She was born in Lehman Township and was a daughter of the late Helen Johnson Miers. She was a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School.

Barbara resided on Dilley Street in Forty Fort for many years. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Master Garment Cleaners of Kingston.

She was a member of the Forty Fort United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Amicitia Class.

Barbara was a proud breast cancer survivor for more than 20 years.

Her sister, Janet Hontz, preceded her in death.

Surviving are her niece, nephew, great-nephew and a host of friends.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Dr. Philip Wanck, pastor of the Forty Fort United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Forty Fort United Methodist Memorial Fund, Wyoming and Yeager avenues, Forty Fort, PA 18704.
