Catherine G. Koonrad, 80, of Chester St., Hanover Township, passed away on Saturday, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, on Aug. 28, 1932. She was the daughter of the late David and Catherine Pissott Klinges.

She was a member of the ILGWU and was employed by Sanford Manufacturing Company for over 30 years. She was also employed as a caretaker for Allied Service.

Catherine enjoyed playing bingo, making pierogies, pasties and pot pies.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Koonrad; son Andrew Koonrad; brothers, David, Paul and Carl Klinges.

Surviving are sons, David Koonrad, Ashley; Richard Koonrad and his wife, Kathy, Hunlock Creek; daughters, Debra Castrignano, Hanover Township; Cathy Disler and her husband, Michael, Laurel Run; grandchildren, David and Gary Koonrad; Melissa and Michael Disler; Destiny Castrignano; great-grandchildren, Tara, Brett, Kyla and Andrew Koonrad; sisters, Lenore Burns and Esther Daubert; nieces and nephews; friend Betty Disler and her beloved Bella and Babe.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church, with the Rev. Joseph Kakareka officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Family and friends may call today from 6 to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 8 to 9 a.m.
