Claude "Bear" Golightley III

SHAVERTOWN — Claude (Bear) Golightley III, 70, of Shavertown, passed away at the Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born Dec. 19, 1947, in Kingston, he was the son of the late Marie Sankus Golightley and the late Claude Golightley II.

Bear was a graduate of Larksville High School and was employed by Martz for over 35 years.

He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Jackson Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne.

Surviving are his brother, Thomas, and his wife, Cathy, of Swoyersville; sister Jeanne Hunter, of Shavertown; sister-in-law Jayne Golightley; nieces Lindsay, Chelsea, Audriana and Leah; nephew Tommy; and his friend, Maxwell the dog.

A Memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, from Williams-Hagen Funeral Home, 114 W. Main St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Quinn officiating. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of service Saturday.
