David J. Comitz

David Joseph Comitz, 56, of Sugar Notch, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Celtic Health Care Geisinger, South Wilkes-Barre, after a brief unexpected illness.

David was born in Wilkes-Barre on Sept. 25, 1956. He is a son of the former Theresa Zolnierowicz of Sugar Notch and the late James "Happy" Comitz Sr.

David was a beloved father, son, brother and uncle. His greatest accomplishments in his life are his three sons, Jeffrey, Adam and David.

David graduated from Hanover Area High School and later joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed by Solomon Industries for several years before becoming disabled.

Surviving along with his mother, Theresa, is his former wife, Colleen Comitz; sons, whom he loved dearly, Jeffery, Adam and David; grandchildren, Cameron, Mackenzie; brother, James Comitz Jr.; sisters, Teri Hatten, Carol Shaw; nieces and nephews, who were proud to have him as an uncle, Colleen, Jessica, Shawn, Patrick, Bryan, Colin, Jim, Jason, Kevin and B.J.; longtime friend, Lynn Wiepa.

David will be sadly missed by all of his family. His witty personality and sensational smiling face made you laugh just looking at him. His death is a tremendous loss to his family. You will remain forever in our hearts, Dave. Now soar across the ocean. We love you.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Private interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Arrangements have been entrusted to the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley.
