PLAINS TWP. — Mrs. Doris M. Turner, 80, a resident of Plains Township, died Tuesday, July 11, 2018, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Turner was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Charles and Mildred Swartwood Boyer and was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School. She had been a homemaker most of her life and had been a member of the former Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Plains Township. She was a loving mother, devoted nana, wife and sister.

Surviving are: Benjamin W. Turner, of Wapwallopen, Sharon Eigenbrod and her busband, Gary, of Dorrance, Paul Turner, of Plains, and Denise Carey and her husband, William, of Pittston Township.; brother Charler Boyer and his wife, Christine, of Wilkes-Barre; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Benjamin F. Turner Jr., who died in 1994.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton.
