Dorothy Patton, 96, of Luzerne, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Jones Hobbs. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1933. Dorothy worked for Fowler, Dick & Walker, The Boston Store/Boscov's until she retired at the age of 65. She was one of the oldest members of Luzerne United Methodist Church, Luzerne.
She was married to Jack Patton in 1935 and he died in 1974. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, William Hobbs, Dr. Albert Hobbs and Lettie Shaw. Dorothy had resided in Luzerne with her daughter, Nancy Boyek and her son-in-law, Dr. Leonard J. Boyek. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with her pastor, the Rev. Carol E. Coleman, officiating. The interment will be in Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Shavertown. Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
