Eleanor Saba

HANOVER TWP. — Eleanor Saba, 94, a resident of Country Meadows in Allentown, formerly of Hanover Township, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was a daughter of the late Elias and Martha (Najour) Saba.

During World War II, she was a secretary for the General of the Army and the General of the Air Force. Later, Eleanor was a Supervisor #GS15 at the Tobyhanna Army Depot. She was a member of St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Wilkes-Barre, where she was superintendent of the Sunday School and sang in the choir. Eleanor was a member of the Order of St. Ignatius.

Survivors include sister Louise S. Carol, of Allentown; and loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2018, at St. Mary's Church, 905 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Very Rev. George Alberts officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
