WILKES-BARRE — Elizabeth C. Lorusso, 84, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday evening, Oct. 24, 2013, at Highland Manor, Exeter.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Nov. 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Buzink Ryman. Elizabeth was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Plains, and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Wilkes-Barre. Elizabeth was employed for many years as a registered nurse at the Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
She was a member of the former St. Therese's Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Preceding her in death were her husband Dr. Vincent Lorusso in 2007; her son David Lorusso in 2004 and her daughter Ann Brinola in 2011.
Surviving are daughter Lisa Lorusso, Willow Grove; granddaughters Andrea Pullo and her husband John, Clarks Summit; Amy Salsberg and her husband Ben, Shavertown; great-grandchildren Nicholas and Mia Salsberg, Shavertown; son-in-law Michael Brinola, Trucksville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:15 a.m. Monday at the Bednarski & Thomas Funeral Home, 27 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at noon in St. Therese's Church, Shavertown, with the Rev. James Paisley officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call from 9 to 11:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
