Mrs. Ethel D. Hillard, 89, formerly of Kingston and Forty Fort, died on Sunday at the Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

She was born in Larksville and was the daughter of the late James and Anna Williams Davis. She graduated from Larksville High School.

Ethel had lived in New Jersey for many years and was an executive secretary.

She had been most recently a resident at Green Acres, Kingston, and earlier on Murray Street in Forty Fort for many years.

She was a member of Forty Fort United Methodist Church and was active with various groups at the church. Ethel was active with Wyoming Chapter 1, Order of the Eastern Star and she served as Worthy Matron. She was also an active member of the senior citizens group of Plymouth.

Her husband, Richard F. Hillard, preceded her in death in 2004, and a sister, Dorothy, in 1976.

Surviving are her nieces and a nephew; great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Dr. Philip T. Wanck officiating. The interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.

Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Wyoming Chapter 1, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter will conduct a service at 7 p.m. Friday.
