July 12, 2012
Florence Turner, 93, of Noxen, formerly of Tunkhannock, went to her new home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock.
Mrs. Turner was born January 8, 1919 in Vernon, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evadne Mae Sickler DuBoice.
She attended grammar school at both Vernon and Dallas.
Florence was employed by Penny Ruff's Store in Noxen and the Noxen Movie Theater, as a ticket agent, in her early years. She was later employed by Bocar Manufacturing in Tunkhannock and the former Linear Manufacturing in Dallas.

Mrs. Turner had no children and treated her nieces and nephews as her own. She was the last of the family patriarchs. She was a lover of dogs and especially loved her pug "Heidi," who was her constant companion. All who knew her loved her and she will be forever missed. Florence's health was failing in the last few years, but as a believer, she knew she was going to a better place.
Her loving husband, Russell J. Turner, died in 1993. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Frances Kresge and Mildred Frantz and a brother, Herman DuBoice.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews as well as a devoted sister-in-law, Doris Mingus, Noxen.
Funeral services for Mrs. Turner will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Martin Everhart of St. Lukes's Reformation Lutheran Church officiating.
