LUZERNE — Francis John Gurnari, 87, of Luzerne, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at home.
Born Nov. 14, 1926, to the late Bruno and Catherine Provenzino Gurnari, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, and, prior to his retirement, he worked for General Cigar and later for Duplin Silk Mill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Razvillas; brothers Dominick, Joseph, Bruno Jr. and Alfred.
Surviving are brothers Larry, Swoyersville; Anthony, Larksville; Angelo, Luzerne; sisters, Ann Marie Padalski and Arlene Kane, both of Swoyersville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with the Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Interment will be in Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne. Family and friends are asked to go directly to church.
