NORTH MORELAND TWP. — Fred T. Wetherbee, II, 78, of North Moreland Township, died peacefully in his sleep at his son's home on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his wife Judith C. Wendler Wetherbee.

Formerly of Melrose Park, he was born on April 24, 1935, son of the late Dana and Clara Kissinger Wetherbee.

He leaves his three loving children: Fred III of Woodland, Calif.; Scott and wife Rhonda of Tunkhannock and daughter Julie and husband Jason Weilage of Alburtis, Pa.; brother Charles and wife Marge Wetherbee of Chalfont, Pa.; sister Dianne and husband Ronald Dorn, Norristown, as well as grandchildren James, Alison, Olivia, and Lucy and step-grandchildren Karlie and Jennifer Bulford.

Fred retired as a Detective Sergeant after 27 years of loyal service with the Cheltenham Police Department. After moving up to the Tunkhannock area, Fred spent more than 15 years of dedicated service as a campus security guard at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus.

He was a devoted and loyal husband to his wife Judy for almost 47 years, a caring family man, and dedicated member of the Community Bible Church, Tunkhannock.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Community Bible Church in Tunkhannock with Pastor David Stuckey officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock.
