ASHLEY — Mr. George W. Boston Jr., of Ashley, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at his home.

Born March 5, 1942, he was a son of the late George W. and Kathleen Esser Boston.

George attended GAR High School, Wilkes-Barre.

He was employed as a welder at Air Products Inc., Hanover Township, and with the Iron Workers Union. George also worked for the Hanover Area School District as the crossing guard at Brown and Ashley Streets, Ashley. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 609, Lee Park, and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 36, Wilkes-Barre.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Ann McEvoy, with whom he would have been married 14 years on March 14, 2014; daughters, Carol and Kathleen Boston; step-children, Lisa Casey and her husband, Brian, Ashley, Lee Scott Churnetski, Ashley, and Lynn Ziller and her husband, Anthony, Bloomsburg; grandchildren, Ryan, Jamie, Kyle, Brandon and Chloe; great-grandson, Richard; and sisters, Carol Farrel and her husband, John, Yatesville, and Joan Scorey, Wilkes-Barre.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. to services Thursday. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
