BLANCHARD, OKLA. — Harry A . Zimmerman Sr., formerly of Wyoming, died Sept. 18, 2013 in Blanchard, Okla., where he had recently relocated to be near his daughter.
Born in Ringtown, Pa., on Sept. 30, 1935, he was the son of the late Paul F . and Maybel (Schlauch) Zimmerman. Harry was a retired Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Caroline Marie Roper of Wilkes-Barre; two daughters Anne Marie Klinger of Port Arthur, Texas and Frances Renee East of Berwick; son, Harry A. Zimmerman, Jr. of Wyoming; grandson, Brian Klinger of Port Arthur, Texas; and his second wife, Anita Boedecker of Wyoming.
He is survived by his daughter Mary Claire Rogers and her husband, Jimmie, of Blanchard, Okla.; two sons-in-law Robert Klinger of Port Arthur, Texas and Charles East, Sr. of Berwick; two grandsons, Charles East, Jr. of Berwick, currently serving in the U.S. Navy at San Diego, Calif. and Joshua East of Berwick; two granddaughters Amber East of Berwick and Fion a Zimmerman of Wilkes-Barre and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hanover Township with Pastor Bob Thomas officiating.
