James C. Costanzo

James C. Costanzo, 80, of Pittston, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Pittston on Jan. 27, 1933, he was a son of the late Joseph and Caroline Bufalino Costanzo.

He was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Prior to his retirement, he worked for Endicott Johnson Shoe Co. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathleen Silla, Josephine Mangione and Pauline DeLuca.

Surviving are his wife, Georgine Bergold Costanzo; daughter, Donna Costanzo, Vestal, N.Y.; son, James Costanzo, and his wife, Marissa, Pittston Township; one granddaughter, Brooke Costanzo; mother-in-law, Helen Shatzel Bergold; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, William Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church on Saturday morning. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston.
