James D. Rosser Obituary

WILKES-BARRE — James D. Rosser, 57, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away suddenly of a heart attack on May 12, 2018.

Jim was born in Wilkes-Barre on Nov. 20, 1960, the son of the late John and Jeanne (Sullivan) Rosser. He attended Dallas area schools and was a life-long resident of the Wyoming Valley area. He was employed for many years as a mason.

Jim pursued a variety of hobbies and interests. He enjoyed cooking, music and playing the guitar. He was fond of sports and an avid Steelers fan. He had a special interest in pyrotechnics. Jim loved animals, with a particular fondness for cats. Those who knew him best were at some time touched by Jim's kind-hearted and generous spirit. He loved his children dearly!

In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by maternal and paternal grandparents; his aunt and godmother, Bettie Sullivan; and several uncles.

Jim is survived by a son, Justin Rosser, and his girlfriend, Britni Edgington, of Wilkes-Barre; a daughter, Jennifer Thompson, her husband, Brad, and daughter, Katherine, of Dallas; a brother, John Rosser, of Virginia; a sister, Marian Bouchard, of Gettysburg; an aunt, Mary Nulton, of Dallas; as well as a nephew, nieces, and cousins. Jim will also be missed by a special friend, Rosie Leonard.

Friends may visit 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Private committal services at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wyoming following a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date.
