Jean Diksa Anderson, age 63, longtime resident of Columbia, Md. and a recent resident of Newark, Del., passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, surrounded and comforted by her family and loved ones.
She was born in Nanticoke, the daughter of the late Anthony and Alice (Machung) Diksa. Jean was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, earning her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Economics.
She enjoyed a lifelong career with Northrop Grumman in Sykesville, Md. and Baltimore, Md.
Jean recently retired after 40 years of dedicated service.
Jean loved reading, crafting and gardening. Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies, but none gave her more joy than sharing them with her granddaughters.
Jean will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by many.
Jean will be dearly missed by her daughter, Katherine Coleman, and her husband, Thomas, of Wilmington, Del., and her sons, Bradley Anderson of Newark, Del., and Kurt Anderson of Baltimore, Md.; two granddaughters, Evelyn and Claire Coleman; her brother, Tony Diksa, and his wife, Christine, of Nanticoke; nephew, Michael Diksa of Dallas, Texas; her niece, Denise Grove of Bridgewater, Va. and her beloved dog, Bijoux.
Her celebration of life will be held on Jan. 13, 2012 at the Chandler Funeral Homes, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Del. The family will be receiving friends and family at 1 p.m. with services beginning at 2 p.m.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
