John W. Reynolds

John W. Reynolds, 82, of Tunkhannock, died at his home on Sunday.

He was born in Camptown on Nov. 26, 1930, the son of the late John W. and Hazel R. Walker Reynolds.

His first wife, the late Janet Rosengrant Reynolds, died in 2005. Then he married the former Helen Brown Learn on Aug. 26, 2005.

John graduated in 1949 from Wyalusing Valley High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had retired from Procter & Gamble after 25 years of service, then he was in charge of the Procter & Gamble Retiree Trip Club for seven years. He enjoyed his time coaching baseball to the area children in Little League and as a PIAA umpire for Wyoming, Lackawanna and Luzerne counties. He was a member and served on various committees for the Osterhout Bible Church. He was an avid Penn State football fan for many years and enjoyed traveling to bowl games. He also enjoyed the Phillies.

John is survived by his wife, four stepsons, Randy; David and his wife, Sallie; Mark and his wife, Brenda; and Daniel and his wife, Holiday; four step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren and several cousins.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with the Rev. Brian R. Williams of the Osterhout Bible Church officiating. Interment at Sunnyside Cemetery will be private. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
