Joseph M. Aquilina, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday in Golden Living Center, Plains.
He was born July 26, 1932, in Pittston, a son of the late Michael and Nellie (Amico) Giannone-Aquilina.
He was a 1952 graduate of Pittston High School. He worked for Techneglas for over 35 years. He was a proud member of the St. Rocco's Holy Name Society for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Big Band Society. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed ballroom dancing and traveling all over the world.
Surviving are brothers Tony and wife Margaret Aquilina, Dupont; Vincent Aquilina and companion Joanne Halowich, Plains; sisters Angeline Buscarino, Long Island, N.Y.; Josephine (Feenie) Amico, Easton; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by brothers Charles Aquilina, Samuel (Cakie) Giannone and Cataldo (Ky) Aquilina; sisters Sadie Argento and Mary Polit.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Township. Viewing hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Marello Parish, William Street, Pittston. Interment services are in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
