Judith Roberts-Roushey

Judith Roberts-Roushey, 73, of Trucksville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at home.

Born in Dallas, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Bertha Riley Roberts. She graduated from the former West Moreland High School and Smith Nursing School. While in high school, she was very active in choral groups and was a cheerleader for four years.

Judith was a practical nurse for some years and later was a secretary for Linear Inc., Fernbrook, A.J. Sordoni, Forty Fort, and retiring from Inter Metro, Wilkes-Barre, in 1996.

Judith married her high school sweetheart, John Roushey, in Trucksville United Methodist Church in 1960. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary Jan. 23, 2013. Judith and John enjoyed camping with friends and especially spending many wonderful years staying in the condos at Myrtle Beach.

Judith is survived by not only her husband John, but also daughter, Kerry Lynne Burba, Trucksville, and the love of her life, granddaughter, Stephanie Elizabeth Burba; brother, William and his wife Maxine Roberts, Sykesville, Md.; sisters, Janis Martinchak and her husband, Gene, Dallas, Suellen Bush and her husband Carl, Trucksville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also is survived by her father-in-law, John Roushey Sr., 98, of Trucksville.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Lynn Snyder, pastor of Shavertown United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Pioneer Ave., Shavertown, PA 18708 or to Trucksville United Methodist Church, 40 Knob Hill Road, Trucksville, PA 18708 or The SPCA, Fox Hill Road, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
