SWOYERSVILLE — Judy M. Norkaitis, 68, of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at her home.
Judy was born in Kingston on Sept. 24, 1945. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Nalepko) Arabinick.
Judy was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She was formerly employed by Jamesway in Luzerne and retired from Pride Mobility in Exeter in 2012. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, John Norkaitis Jr., in 1999.
Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Norkaitis; son, John Norkaitis III, also known as John Stevens, leader and musician of the local polka band, John Stevens Doublshot; daughter-in-law, Bridget; grandchildren, Steven Norkaitis and Liliana Norkaitis; sisters, Nancy Shuritis and Carol Mickey.
Funeral services for Judy will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. in St. Therese's Parish, 64 Davis St., Shavertown. Interment will be held in St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery, Courtdale. Family and friends may pay their respects from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
