Karl Raymond "Stale Buns" George, 77, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late William Elias and Josephine Scheurman George. He was a graduate of Newport High School and was a disabled U.S. Air Force veteran.
Karl was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. He was formerly employed by Maier's Bakery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Agnes Davis George, in 1998.
Surviving are daughters, Brenda Rundle, Edwardsville, and Dr. Tracey George, O.D., Whitehall; grandson, John "Jack" Karl Rundle, Edwardsville; brother, William Elias George Jr., Sweet Valley; sister, Patricia A. Pointek, Binghamton, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Shirley George, Sweet Valley; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Memorial donations in Karl's name may be made to the SPCA.
