Mrs. Katherine R. Wills, age 92, Wilkes-Barre, a former life resident of the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in the Inpatient Unit, Commonwealth Hospice Care, St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.

She had previously been a guest at Little Flower Manor and St. Therese Personal Care Home, both of Wilkes-Barre.

Mrs. Wills was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late William and Ada Goodall Schiel, and attended James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre. She had been a faithful member of the former First Primitive Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, and had taught Sunday school for more then 40 years. Following its closing, she had been a member of the East End Primitive Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre. Katherine was an avid reader and, as her eyesight failed, her friends assisted her in this endeavor. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Amos T. Wills, who passed away in 1992; brothers, William, Frederick, Joseph, Carl Shiel; sisters, Annetta Clymo, Gertrude Kulp, Ada Hughes and Peggy Zelinka.

Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Carol Washick and her husband, Norman, Peckville; Mrs. Nancy Gross, Wilkes-Barre Township; grandchildren, Norman Washick Jr.; Kathy Orr and her husband, Ralph; Robert Gross and his wife, Marissa; great-grandchildren, R. J. and Cody Orr, Jakob and Benjamin Gross; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home Inc., a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 451 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Marty Garms, pastor, East End Primitive Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
