Kathryn E. Havens, 89, of Nanticoke, passed away Monday evening, at Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Selinsgrove, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Annie Groner Foltz.
Prior to her retirement in 1987, she worked in the environmental services departments at Nanticoke State Hospital and Retreat State Hospital. Kathryn was a member of the Honey Pot Auxiliary, the former St. Francis Guild and St. Faustina Parish.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, in 1975; her brother, Paul, and sister, Mary.
Surviving are her 13 children, Sandra Mutrynowski, Honey Pot, Thomas, Brockport, N.Y., Kathleen Panasiewicz, West Nanticoke, Patricia Kalweit, Virginia Beach, Va., Michael, Newport Twp., Darla Perkins, Hunlock Creek, Sharon Ostopowicz, Alden, Maureen Honeychurch, Nanticoke, Peggy Ostopowicz, Nanticoke, Terry, Honey Pot, Deborah Bowers, Honey Pot, Kevin, Kingston, and Shawn, Nanticoke; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Starkey, Rivenna, Ohio; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 173 E. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Faustina Parish. The Rev. Raymond Deviney will officiate. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
Interment will be in the family cemetery.
