Larry Bower

Larry Glenn Bower, of Smyrna, Del., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013. He was 69.

Mr. Bower was born on Oct. 8, 1943, a son of the late Glenn and Margaret Bower of Hunlock Creek. He retired in 2002 from Willis Chevrolet of Smyrna after more than 20 years of work in its auto body and collision repair center. Larry was a devoted member of Word to the Bride Tabernacle, Newark, Del. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a fan of NASCAR, especially of Jeff Gordon.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elaine; three daughters, Debbie Fie and her husband, John, of Newark, Del.; Brenda Darrell and her husband, Brian, of Clayton, Del.; Tanya Lyons and her husband, Terry, of Dover, Del.; seven grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth and her husband, James, Brian, Matt, Steve, Chris, Jenny; his great granddaughter, Olivia; and his sister, Cheryl Todd, of Arizona.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, Del. Memorial services will begin at noon. Burial will be privately held in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
