Leona ""Eleanor"" O'Connell, 91, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Monday in St. Luke's Villa.
Born in Pringle on Dec. 31, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Pauline Ferrins Tomkiewicz.
She was a longtime member of All Saints Parish, a member of the Silver and Gold Club, an RSVP volunteer and volunteered at the Christian Service Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. O'Connell; brothers, Alex Tomkiewicz, John Tomkins and Charles Tomkiewicz; and sisters Ann Japkupko and Charlotte Snyder.
Eleanor is survived by her son, Joseph O'Connell, and his wife, Patricia, Burke, Va.; grandsons, Christopher and Sheldon, both residing in Costa Mesa, Calif.; and a sister, Stella Scovish, Pringle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at 10 a.m. from All Saints Parish, 66 Willow St., Plymouth. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be sent to St. Luke's Villa, 80 E. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
