AVOCA — Leonard L. Ferlick Jr., 72, of Avoca, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, as a result of injuries sustained in an accident. His loving wife of 47 years is Jean Lucarelli Ferlick.

Born in Pittston, son of the late Leonard and Ellen Gallia Ferlick, he was a 1964 graduate of Old Forge High School. Len enlisted in the Marine Corps and honorably served during the Vietnam War as a sergeant. He was currently employed at the Tobyhanna Army Depot, where he worked for a period of 31 years.

Also surviving are a son, Leonard Ferlick III, of Avoca; a daughter-in-law, Julie Ferlick; grandchildren Kyle and Kelsey; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Visotski.

The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Ferri & Gillette Funeral Services LLC, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge, to Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 123 W. Grace St., Old Forge. Interment is in Old Forge Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the AMVETS Honor Guard.
