Leonard S. Pendzinski

Leonard Stanley Pendzinski, age 81, of Camp Hill, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at Select Specialty Hospital in Harrisburg.

Born Oct. 10, 1931, in Plains Township, he was a son of the late Stanley and Victoria (Savitski) Pendzinski.

Leonard was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was retired after 30 years from Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Leonard was an usher and active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill; Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Queenship Council 4068; a 4th Degree with Bishop J. W. Shanahan Assembly 917, Harrisburg, having served as Faithful Navigator and District Warden; a member of the West Shore Benevolent Protective Order of Elks 2257 and the American Legion 109.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Leonard was also an avid Penn State fan, as well as a dedicated follower of any sport or activity in which his grandchildren participated. He lived his life as a true example of God's love and he will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife of over 50 years, Helene (Salonick) Pendzinski; his three daughters, Helene and husband Scott Briggs, of Camp Hill; Mary Jo and husband Ken Martin, of Palmyra; Paulette and husband Kurt Underkofler, of Camp Hill; eight grandchildren, Noah and Samuel Briggs; Jennifer, Ken, Nick and Megan Martin; Olivia and Owen Underkofler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul C. Helwig as celebrant. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
