Louise Wildoner Obituary

PLYMOUTH — Louise Wildoner, 86, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully Friday, March 4, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at the Lakeside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Harveys Lake.

She was born Oct. 6, 1929, in Plymouth and was the daughter of the late Walter G. and Angeline (Hyde) Bethel. Louise was a graduate of the class of 1947 at Harter High School, Plymouth Township, and she had attended LCCC. She was a member of The Episcopal Church of St. Clement and St. Peter, Wilkes Barre, and had served on the church vestry.

Prior to her retirement, Louise had been employed at the Plymouth Public Library for over 40 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 463, Plymouth, a past officer and member of the IMP Club, Plymouth, a past officer and member of the Plymouth Cambrian Club and a member of the Interfaith Bowling League.

Louise's world revolved around her children and grandchildren. They were her greatest joy. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening and canning and was an avid fan of the game show Jeopardy. Louise loved to craft, sew and travel. She spent many summers traveling and camping with her brother, Lou, and his wife, Peg, to New England to sell her wares at craft and flea markets.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E., who passed away in 2011; her son, Barry J. Wildoner, who passed away in 2008; and her brother, Louis C. Bethel Sr., who passed away in 2003.

Surviving are her loving daughters, Denise Strickland and her husband, James Pilger, of Harveys Lake, Pamela Dulski and her husband, Stephen, of Danville, Illinois, and Danielle Malone and her husband, Thomas, of Clarks Green. She is also survived by grandchildren, Koren Booth and her husband, Robert, of Sweet Valley, George Strickland, of Wilkes Barre, Trina Groff and her husband, Joel, of Palmyra, Cindy Meija, of Michigan, Jason Dulski, of Lebanon, Erik Wildoner, of Plymouth, Alexandra Schumacher and her husband, Jacob, of Glenville, Minnesota, and Katherine and Megan Malone, of Clarks Green; 14 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sherri Carroll Wildoner, of Annapolis, Maryland; and numerous extended family members.

Louise's family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Lakeside Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion during Louise's stay. She thought of many of them as her family.

Family and friends are invited to meet for Requiem Eucharist at 11 a.m. Friday in The Episcopal Church of St. Clement and St. Peter, 165 Hanover St., Wilkes Barre, with the Rev. William S. Marshall Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton. The family is respecting Louise's request that no calling hours be held before the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired, may be made to The Episcopal Church of St. Clement and St. Peter, Wilkes Barre, or the Luzerne County Public Library System.
