Margaret Taylor Honeywell, age 91, formerly of Laceyville, passed away early Sunday morning, Dec. 16, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock, where she had been a resident for the last two years.
Margaret was born on April 9, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles and Gladys Harris Goodwin in Endicott, N.Y.
She worked in many of the local sewing factories in Laceyville, Meshoppen and Black Walnut before she retired in 1983.
Margaret lived in Laceyville on Doolittle Hill until the death of her husband, Edward F. Honeywell (June 6, 1988). She then moved to her daughter and son-in-law's house on Golden Hill.
She was a member of the Rought Hall Post 510 American Legion Auxiliary in Black Walnut, Pa. She also loved to do crafts and spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her four daughters, Janice Godown of Plains; Carole Brek and her husband, Tim, of Kingston; Linda Salsman and her husband, Roger, of Laceyville; and Cathy Gay and her husband, Scott, of Orwell, Ohio; her son, Edward "Skip" Honeywell Jr. of Laceyville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her brother, Jesse "Jake" Goodwin, and his wife, Millie, of Laceyville; her sisters Helen Newhart of Camptown, Pa., and Hettie Tinna of Wyalusing, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Lorraine Honeywell; a sister, Gertrude Pennay, a son-in-law, Albert Godown, and two brothers-in-law, Frank Newhart and Harold (Bim) Tinna.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Laceyville. Interment and graveside services will follow at the Lacey Street Cemetery.
