Mary Elizabeth Ertz, 56, of Plymouth, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Hospice Community Care, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of Abdiel and H. Nancie Phillips. She attended Battin High School in Elizabeth, N.J. and graduated from Wilkes College. She was employed for 34 years by the Angeline E. Kirby Memorial Health Center as a certified laboratory technician.
She was a member of the East End Primitive Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and member of the choir. She was also Past Matron of the Plymouth and Wyoming Chapters of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a past District Deputy of District 21A of the Pennsylvania Eastern Star. She was also a past president of the Past Matrons/Past Patrons.
She and her husband, Arch, celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on May 2, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rachel Wilson, and her mother, H. Nancie Phillips.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her father, Abdiel Phillips, Plymouth; daughters, Rachel, Plymouth; Jennifer Hower and husband, Kyle, Dillsburg, Pa.
The family would like to thank Hospice Community Care, Dr. Anthony Balsamo of Geisinger and Dr. James Rondina for their kindness and care.
A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.. at the William A. Reese Funeral Chapel, 56 Gaylord Ave., Plymouth with her pastor, the Rev. Marty Garnes and the Rev. Anita J. Ambrose officiating.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
