Mary Petro, 91, formerly of Plains Township, a resident of Shavertown, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Dimitri and Anastasia Koches Orischak. Mary was educated in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District, and was formerly employed as a seamstress at Leslie Fay in the garment industry. She was an active charter member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Petro; sisters Anna Cherup, Eva Sokola; brother, Adam Orischak.
Mary will be missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the Carmelite Sisters and staff of Little Flower Manor for their excellent care and kindness.
Surviving are daughter, Audrey Coslett and husband, Robert, Shavertown; son, Robert G Petro, and wife Penny, Souderton; grandchildren, Dr. Lynne Coslett-Charlton, Shavertown; R Craig Coslett, Mountain Top; Jason R Coslett, Shavertown; Robert J Petro, Doylestown; Robyn Petro Malone, Wilmington, Del.; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Helen Zavada, Betty Serafin, both of Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral Service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with Requiem Service at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday with Parastas Service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. David Shewczyk officiating.
