Pauline D. Novitski, 86, of Southington, Conn., and a former resident of Nanticoke, passed away early Thursday morning, September 13, 2012, at the Bradley Memorial Hospital, Southington.
Born on September 15, 1925, in Ashley, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Zoborowski Stancavage and lived in Nanticoke in the early part of her life. She attended the Nanticoke public schools.
Residing in Southington since 1995, she previously resided in Gouldsboro (Big Bass Lake) for seven years, and in Meriden, Conn., for 42 years.
Prior to retiring in 1987, Pauline had been employed as a caster by the Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Company, North Haven, Conn., for 33 years. She had previously worked at several manufacturing companies in New Britain and Meriden.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Nanticoke, now St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, and attended Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville, Conn.
Her husband, Henry Novitski, passed away on September 10, 1995. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Alex, Zigmund, Tony, Stanley and John Stancavage; sisters, Natalie Cooper, Mary Stancavage, Stella Tarowski and Celia Ogin.
Surviving are sons; Henry Novitski Jr., Bowling Green, Ky., Daniel, Southington, Conn.; grandsons, Henry Novitski III, Michael Novitski; a sister, Irene Rasmus, Wilkes-Barre; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Faustina Kowalska Parish/Holy Trinity Church, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Sheatown, Newport Township. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
